Research Programme

In our research programme, we tread some new ground in terms of bringing aspects of sustainable development into the research arena of business studies and also working together to explore the common themes that pervade all areas of the business curriculum. The research carried out in the Programme will not only produce academic publications, but will enrich different areas of business studies by feeding into the curriculum of the College of Business. We also intend to produce publications for general audiences, in order to develop the discourse of sustainable development in New Zealand.

Focal areas of our research include the foundation Survey of Corporate Environmental Responsiveness; the discourse of sustainable development in New Zealand; the business transition to sustainability; sustainable development reporting; developmental relationships; the role of the learning organisation; shareholder value and environmental performance; discourse analysis; environmental accounting and governance for sustainable development.
