Mission Statement

The Programme for Business and Sustainable Development is a Research Programme of Massey University, established to undertake research in all areas of business and the transition to sustainable development. The Programme draws upon the collaboration and expertise of leading researchers and practitioners who make a substantial contribution to the discourse of sustainable development in New Zealand and internationally.

Objectives

• To raise the profile of sustainable development in New Zealand in business and the broader community, and to contribute to the discourse;
• To conduct research on aspects of business and sustainable development that engage the expertise and interest of researchers from all business disciplines;
• To work with academics from other disciplines and other tertiary institutions where appropriate;
• To engage other experts from the community in the programme of the Programme, particularly people from business;
• To produce research of the best academic standards and aim for publication in 'A' grade journals;
• To publish a book drawing upon research from a number of business disciplines;
• To produce publications for the lay person - business, government, community - which help to foster the discourse of sustainable development in New Zealand;
• To conduct specific research investigations with companies that are self-funding.
